When I was ten years old, I told myself I was going to have a son and name him William David.

I did that. Then, I had another son, and named him James.

The purpose of my life was to be a parent.

It's all I ever wanted to be.

Along the way (while waiting for my two sons to come along), I taught other people's children.

That experience led me to raise my children as Self-directed Learners (what the world calls Homeschoolers).

Will and James both received full-scholarships to attend the colleges of their choice.  I have been a teacher for more than 40 years.

For all those years, I've been a student of effective ways to work with diverse children of all ages in different environments.

My passion is to learn what I could  do and not do to raise and teach happy, productive, empowered, creative, confident, empathetic, hard-working, positive, kind, funny, self-reliant children who deeply know their unique purpose and set about doing that in the world as they became adults.

Now that my children are adults, have left home, and are doing what they love to do, I had a bit of a meltdown... If my only purpose was to be a parent and raise amazing children, what was my purpose now?

I went through a really rough time. But over time, I realized my new purpose. Purpose Parenting!

During the years I was teaching and parenting, I found myself being asked for parenting advice, tips, resources, ideas, support, and guidance by struggling parents.

Many people have come to me to ask about ways they could improve their parenting to have a better relationship with their child, and to feel less confused, alone, and stressed.

Finally, after years of helping parents informally, I have created Purpose Parenting!

I am so excited to share all that I've learned about brain development, and how to parent in ways that allow each unique child to become the best version of themselves possible.

It is exciting work and I look forward to meeting you, and hearing about your parenting journey with your unique children.

This work has been the entire focus of my life and I am eager to share what I have learned with you.

Please give me a call or send me an email and let's set up a first-time,

no-cost parent coaching session.

I promise you'll find the experience rewarding and helpful.

I'm that confident you'll gain new perspectives and skills that will help you parent with more purpose.
